Accommodation in our larger cottage (No 46) includes 3 twin bedrooms (one downstairs), large bathroom, dining room and separate lounge with living gas fire. It has a large utility room, which opens directly on to a fenced in garden which can be of great benefit for visiting children and pets!
Accommodation in our smaller cottage (No 47) consists of a twin room and a double room upstairs and a single bedroom downstairs. It also has a large bathroom, dining room and separate lounge with living gas fire.
Both cottages have fully fitted kitchens with gas ovens, hobs, washer/dryers, dishwashers, fridge/freezers, microwaves, etc.
Children are always welcome and we can provide cots and high chairs, etc at no extra cost.
Easy access and central heating make the cottages also perfect for winter breaks.

There are several pubs in the village within easy walking distance and most of these offer great food and welcome families.

Our cottages offer an ideal base for touring, cycling and walking holidays aswell as the beach holidays that the area is renowned for.
The Cleveland Way runs along the farm coastline and the Moors to Sea Cycle route also goes through our land.
The surrounding towns, including Scarborough and Whitby, offer not only golden sandy beaches but a wealth of leisure, sporting activities and first class shopping facilities. Goathland with its ‘Heartbeat’ and ‘Harry Potter’ connections is within easy reach as is Grosmont where you can find the North Yorkshire Moors Railway.

Seafront Apartments were formed by the clever adaptation in the 1960s of a large Victorian terraced house into 6 new apartments. Some retain original features of beautiful ceiling plasterwork. Each apartment is fully self-contained with its own key and inside the main front door. The building is warm, double-glazed and quiet, in a village location between Whitley Bay and Tynemouth. The apartments enjoy a spectacular unique location and front apartments have unrivalled sea views. Long stretches of sandy beaches, with cleanliness and safety awards, extend north and south of Seafront.
The location of Seafront is ideal for public transport. Cullercoats station, on the Tyneside metro system, is a mere 3 minutes walk. Buses, many accessible to wheelchairs, are right at the door and they run toWhitley Bay, Tynemouth, Newcastle and Gateshead. This makes Seafront a perfect base for exploring the region’s vast array of tourist attractions …be they historic, cultural, religious, or simply retail! The apartments are equally appropriate for the business/professional visitor to the region, especially those who prefer to escape the city life for their leisure hours. Newcastle city centre is 20 minutes away by the efficient and very frequent metro trains. For those bringing cars, parking is free on Beverley Terrace and streets nearby.

The apartments are self-contained and fully equipped.

Each apartment has TV with Freeview (30+ TV and 20+ radio channels), DVD player, video recorder, CD and cassette player, radio and clock radio/alarm. Kitchens have cooker, microwave, fridge, kettle, toaster, cooking pans and crockery etc. All linen and towels are provided. Each apartment has iron and ironing board and there is a laundry room with washer and dryer on the ground floor. There is also a covered drying area in the back yard. The large yard, with hose facility, can also accommodate bicycles, surf-boards, wetsuits, mobility scooters etc. The building is child friendly and we supply buckets, spades, nets and games etc. There is a stocked bookcase for guests’ enjoyment and a vast array of tourist brochures about the region.

Northumbria is frequently described as “Britain’s best kept secret” with its abundance of beautiful beaches, magnificent castles, Roman heritage sites, stunning landscape, and friendly people. Welcome to our family run luxury accommodation in Dorset.
The Victorian Barn nestles under Bulbarrow Hill on a small working beef farm in an area of outstanding natural beauty.  It is situated 8 miles west of the Georgian town of Blandford Forum and four miles south of Sturminster Newton, being an old Medieval market town as mentioned in the doomsday book.
The Victorian Barn is a triple span barn and was originally built in 1849.  Dairy cows were kept in stalls and milked by hand some of the milk was processed and made into cheese and the whey would have been fed back to the pigs on the farm.  The working shire horses were also stabled in the barn.
The Victorian Barn is a large building comprising 7 modern and luxurious accommodation suites which are able to accommodate both small and large groups for romantic getaways, holidays and special occasions.  In addition to the accommodation the barn has two large function lounges with kitchen facilities for intimate parties and events.

Slatters Cottage is a luxury Grade II listed self catering holiday cottage in the Cotswolds, parts of which date back to the 17th century, located in a quiet country lane in Bourton-on-the-Hill, nr Moreton-in-Marsh. It has a wealth of character.

Ideal for those looking for a cosy romantic place to stay or, in fact, anyone who is looking for a delightful base to use for walking/touring the Cotswolds.

Downstairs the stone walled lounge has a beamed ceiling and a large inglenook fireplace with log burning stove and window seat. Recently redecorated and refurbished, it is furnished to a wonderfully high standard. On the ground floor is the kitchen, the lounge/dining area with dining table & chairs, leather sofa & armchair, colour television, Freeview box with digital radio, DVD player, CD/MP3 player with radio, and an adjoining toilet and utility room. There are a wide range of books, DVD’s & CDs and many games provided. Wi-Fi internet access is also available.

The cottage is fully equipped with a gas cooker, fridge section, separate freezer, microwave, washing machine, tumble dryer and gas central heating.

Upstairs are one double (5′ pocket sprung mattress) with TV and one single bedroom, sleeping up to three people (plus baby in travel cot), with lovely views over the village and the surrounding landscape, and the toilet/bathroom with bath and shower-over-bath.

There is a payphone and you can get mobile reception (dependent upon your network). There is off-road parking directly outside the cottage for one car and further parking is always available on the road directly opposite the cottage.

A travel cot and high chair can be provided at no extra cost. All bedding & linen (apart from travel cot) and towels are provided free of charge. Smoking is not allowed in the cottage.

Please Note: The Stairs To The First Floor Are A Little Steep And Thus The Cottage May Not Be Suitable For The Infirm Or Toddlers.

20% deposit (40% Xmas/New Year) if booked more than 8 weeks before arrival. Otherwise full amount on booking.  No refund of deposit if cancelled more than 8 weeks before arrival otherwise no refund.

Payment – Bank transfer or Paypal. There is a small additional charge for transferring money from outside the UK or using Paypal to cover the charges made to us.

PRICE GUIDE 2011:

Prices are per cottage and are all-inclusive – includes heating, lighting, bed linen and towels

  • Glen Helen Cottage ONE [sleeps four] from £310 to £330 per week. From £70 per night [minimum 2 nights]
  • Glen Helen Cottage TWO [sleeps three] from £280 to £300 per week. From £60 per night [minimum 2 nights]
  • Mount View [sleeps four] from £360 to £380 per week. From £80 per night [minimum 2 nights]

 

Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions are for guidance purposes.
Cottages will normally be available from 4.00 p.m. on the day of booking.
We ask guests to vacate the cottages by 10.00 a.m. on the day of departure.
The cottages are for the number of people indicated [up to 3 persons in cottage 2 or 4 persons in the other cottages].
The properties are let to adults and family groups.
No smoking in any of the cottages.
If guests intend to bring pets to cottage one or two, then this must be discussed with the owners at the time of booking.
No pets in Mount View – to cater for guests who may have allergies.
The cottages are to be left in the condition in which they were found.
A deposit is required to secure the booking with the balance paid one month before the booked date.
Payment is usually by cheque but other methods, such as PayPal, are available.
An access statement is available on our website.
The right is reserved to refuse or cut short a letting if the above conditions are not met.

Fuchsia cottage has been given a three-star rating by VisitBritain, has its own private garden and is ready for you to start your holiday as soon as you arrive, with beds made, towels in each room and a welcome pack waiting for you. The accommodation has considerable charm and character including beamed ceilings, latched doors etc and is very comfortably furnished throughout with central heating.
The living/dining room has a beamed ceiling and a wood burning stove in a magnificent inglenook fireplace with the original bread oven. There is a colour TV with satellite freeview, video and DVD player. The kitchen has exposed stonework with an electric cooker and microwave oven. There are two bedrooms – one double and one with full-sized bunk beds. There is a spacious bathroom/wc with a separate shower cubicle. Fuchsia Cottage has an attractive private garden with flowers and shrubs and ample parking in the courtyard. No smoking. Dogs are welcome. Bed linen, towels, heating and electricity are all included. Cot, highchair and stairgate available. There is a games room with snooker table and dartboard.
A character village pub is just one and a half miles away and within four miles are the amenities of Great Torrington with a golf course, indoor pool, Rosemoor Gardens, Dartington Crystal and miles of magnificent walking and cycling along the Tarka Trail.

The fine sandy beaches of Westward Ho! and Instow are within a 20 minute scenic drive. There are footpaths from the accommodation through the beautiful North Devon countryside and numerous tourist attractions in the area, with plenty to do whatever the weather.

Price, Terms & Payment:
Rates are from Saturday to Saturday. There is a discount of 5% for subsequent weeks.
Electricity, heating, bed linen and towels are all included in the price. 1 dog £15 per week, 2
dogs £20 per week.

A deposit of 25% is due on booking, the balance being due 6 weeks before the start of your holiday.
